Children´s choir

More than 70 children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 16 sing in the children’s choir of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, led by Vinzenz Weissenburger since the beginning of the 2007/2008 season.  

 
Next to appearances at the home venue in such operatic productions as »La Bohème«, »Un ballo in maschera«, »Carmen«, »Turandot«, »Tosca«, »Boris Godunow«, »Pique Dame«, »The Cavalier of the Rose« and in the ballett » The Nutcracker«, the children’s choir has already been in concert with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. It also holds its own concerts in the Apollo hall of the Staatsoper and tours time and again. During the Monday rehearsals in the Staatsoper’s choir hall, the young singers receive vocal as well as general musical training and are prepared for the stage and concert performances. Several vocal coaches aid the children’s voices in their growth and development.
