Berliner Brahms Trio
Founded in Weimar in 1970, the trio first took on the name »Brahms-Trio Weimar« on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the death of Johannes Brahms. Since 1987, the ensemble has consisted of Gunther Anger (piano), Thorsten Rosenbusch (violin) und Michael Nellessen (violoncello) and has been performing under the name “Berliner Brahms Trio.” Thorsten Rosenbusch is first concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin, Michael Nellessen assistant solo cellist.

The Berliner Brahms Trio has performed concerts in numerous musical venues and music festivals at home and abroad. Tours have led the ensemble to a host of countries including Finland, Switzerland, Italy, France, Syria, Austria and Hungary. Broadcast recordings and live recordings of concerts across the country and the world document the high level of playing consistently attributed to the ensemble in press reports.
