Perkussive Spielvereinigung
The Perkussive Spielvereinigung (lit. transl. »The Percussive PlayFederation«) was founded by Christian Langer and Dominic Oelze in 1996. Prior to that, Langer and Oelze had already played together during pre-conservatory studies at the Spezialschule für Musik in Halle, Germany, and the two studied together at the music conservatory of Leipzig, the Hochschule für Musik »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy«, with Professors Karl Mehlig and Stephan Stopora. Oelze also studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Peter Sadlo. Since 1999, Langer has been engaged with the Staatskapelle Dresden and Oelze with the Staatskapelle Berlin.

While the Perkussive Spielvereinigung is structured first and foremost as a percussion duo, the ensemble is also at times augmented with further musicians, dancers, photographers and stage designs to accommodate the specific program concept at hand, and its regular concerts are dedicated to performances of contemporary ensemble and solo literature as well as to improvisations. Oelze and Langer also teach at the music conservatory of Dresden, the Hochschule für Musik »Carl Maria von Weber«.
