Trio Apollon
Matthias Glander, Felix Schwartz and Wolfgang Kühnl, who came together to form the extraordinary Trio Apollon, drew continual inspiration from their regular collaboration with artists like Daniel Barenboim, Yefim Bronfman and Yo-Yo Ma in developing their own individual sound and unique playing style.
They have conquered the hearts of their listeners in appearances at New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and venues in London and Paris. Their singular, »highly Romantic instrumentation« (clarinet, viola and piano), as Robert Schumann once described it, never fails to surprise and enchant the listener.

The repertoire of the Trio Apollon spans across the Viennese classics through the German Romantics and all the way to the modern. Well-known contemporary composers have dedicated works to the Trio Apollon. In 2006, their CD entitled »Wasserspiele«, released on the Warner Classics label, received the Echo Classic as best chamber music recording.
