Based on the state regulation dated April 21, 2020, ordering the ban of large-scale events due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, we have to inform you with a heavy heart that all performances of Staatsoper Unter den Linden until the end of July have to be cancelled. Guided tours, accompanying program and performances in other venues are affected as well. Even though season 2019/20 could not end as planned and we will only be able to welcome you again in the coming season, we would like to stay in contact with you through our digital channels and offers. We will use this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty and your solidarity.

Tickets, that have already been purchased for this period, lose their validity.

You will have the following possibilities:

1.    Voucher
You can get a voucher of the ticket value that can be used until December 31st 2023.

2.    Donation
We would be delighted if you support our children and youth program by waiving your refund of the ticket price. Especially in these hard times, we witness once again the great power of music. To present the opera house to young people as an open space for encounters, experiences and questions and to offer them a stable place in our program, is an affair of heart for the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and we would very much appreciate counting you to our circle of patrons.

3.    Refund
Of course you can also cancel your tickets free of charge and receive a full refund. Please fill in the form below and send it to us until June 30th 2020. We thank you for your understanding that the processing of refunds by bank transfer will take some time – the refund by voucher is the quickest solution. The bank transfers will be issued little by little. This process might take until the end of the season, even though we are still trying to realize a quick handling of the refunds. Therefore, we would like to ask for your patience.

If you have purchased tickets for a performance with free seat selection directly at our box office, we will require a photo/ a scan of your tickets with a legible barcode. 

Holders of tickets that have been bought at external ticket agencies or with travel agencies have to directly contact the according agency for a refund.

Due to the current situation, our box office in the opera foyer has to stay closed until further notice. The ticket service is not reachable by phone as well. We are still available by email and you can send your inquiries to

The start of advance booking that we had planned for the new season 2020/21 has to be postponed to a later date, because of the current situation. We will inform you about it as soon as possible. When we have new information, you can also find them here on our website.
