As part of the »Staatsoper for Everyone« initiative on June 16 and 17, 2018, road closures will be taking place in the area around the opera house. Here is how to reach Bebelplatz and the opera house:
BY TAXI OR CAR
The Unter den Linden underground car park is open and can be reached both by car and by taxi via the two access roads from Behrenstraße. Taxis can enter the car park for a short time and drop guests off at the underground entrance to the Staatsoper.
Visitors who already hold a valid ticket for a performance at the opera house also have the option of driving up to Unter den Linden / Neue Wache by taxi or car. Please show your ticket at the security checkpoints. Please also note that you may only stop briefly.
Visitors without a valid ticket can use the car park or park their vehicles outside the restricted areas. From the direction of Brandenburg Gate, visitors should note that there are closures from Charlottenstraße onwards; from the direction of Alexanderplatz there are closures from Spandauer Straße at the junction with Karl-Liebknecht-Straße onwards. In addition, Straße des 17. Juni is closed for the World Cup public viewing.
Cyclists may park their bikes on the central island of Unter den Linden (approximately up to the equestrian statue) or around Neue Wache.
Visitors who already hold a valid ticket for a performance at the opera house may reach the entrance on foot by going through the cordoned off area at the edge of Bebelplatz (fire services access). Please show your ticket at the security checkpoints.
