With his work »Feu d’artifice« (»Fireworks«) from 1908, the young Stravinsky, one of the protagonists of modernist music, gave the world a sample of his immense compositional talent. Prokofiev’s fifth and final piano concerto from 1931 takes up some of the impulses sparked by Stravinsky’s aesthetics. Berlioz’s »Symphonie fantastique«, a key work of programme music, concludes the evening.
