A Beethoven symphony in the composer’s anniversary year will be performed by the Staatskapelle Berlin and its General Music Director Daniel Barenboim: they have selected Symphony No. 7 by this renowned composer of Viennese Classicism for their »Concert for Berlin«, a work of rhythmic and tonal intensity that was very well received during Beethoven’s lifetime and has not since lost any of its power.
