Preußens Hofmusik IV

Eine Berlinische Abendmusik

The Preußens Hofmusik concert series returns to the place where it all started more than a dozen years ago. On four Sunday afternoons, the Apollo-Saal will be filled with the sound of Baroque and Early Classical music, with works by Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons, and by Graun and Hasse – composers who dominated the repertoire of the opera house in the era of Frederick the Great – as well as compositions by Stamitz, Handel and Telemann, for additional European emphasis. In a chamber-orchestra-size ensemble, musicians of the Staatskapelle will perform on their modern instruments in a historically informed performance style.
