Sonderkonzert „Musik aus fernen Rundfunktagen“
Christian Thielemann
Popular Music from Berlin – that is the promise of the second concert featuring “Music from the Golden Age of Radio.” The program spans a wide range, from Berlin operetta—represented by composers such as Paul Lincke, Eduard Künneke, and Paul Abraham—to film and promenade music. The vibrant musical culture of the Imperial era and the Weimar Republic is highlighted, featuring pieces that are partly well-known but also rarely heard today—works that rightly belong to the category of “sophisticated light music” and were firmly established in the radio repertoire in many ways.
