An experienced and versatile conductor, Christopher Moulds is in demand at opera houses throughout Europe conducting repertoire ranging from Monteverdi, Handel and Mozart through to Britten’s Turn of the Screw and contemporary works such as Birtwistle’s Punch and Judy.

This season he makes his debut at San Francisco Opera, Oper Stuttgart and Theatre Basel. He returns to Semperoper Dresden to conduct further performances of Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Last season saw Moulds’ debut at Norwegian National Opera with Don Giovanni.

Often seen leading the baroque opera repertoire, Moulds led Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, a co-production between the Royal Opera House and the Roundhouse which received much critical acclaim in January 2015. Other recent performances include Semele at the Händel-Festspiele Karlsruhe, La Calisto at Bayerische Staatsoper Munich and this season he returns to Madrid for Dido & Aeneas.  Moulds has appeared in Russia numerous times at the Bolshoi Theatre including the premiere of Rodelinda and most recently joined the Moscow Chamber Orchestra for a concert performance of Handel’s Ottone. Further afield Christopher Moulds has appeared in Israel and the Sydney Festival for a series of performances Handel’s Dido & Aeneas as well as in New York with the Canadian Opera Company.

Christopher Moulds began his career as a member of the music staff at English National Opera before being appointed chorus master at Glyndebourne, after which he began his international career.
