Mårten Nehrfors received his Masters degree in musicology and philosophy at Stockholm University in 2010. The same year he began his doctoral studies at King’s College London, moving back to Stockholm University in 2012. His research focuses on the Prussian composer and writer Johann Friedrich Reichardt, the emergence of nationalism, and new ideas of music’s role in society in late 18th century German lands. He has previously written on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s ideal of song, and is a regular contributor to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s project Swedish Musical Heritage.
