KLAVIERKONZERT NO. 3 D MINOR OP. 30
»FALSTAFF« – SYMPHONISCHE STUDIE OP. 68
»TILL EULENSPIEGELS LUSTIGE STREICHE« OP. 28
The concert season begins with music from three different countries and cultures, composed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: Rachmaninov’s highly virtuoso Piano Concerto No. 3 is combined with Elgar’s witty musical portrait of the knight Falstaff from Shakespeare’s »Henry IV.«. And to this, the legendary figure of »Till Eulenspiegel« is added in the form of a dazzling tone poem.
