Ludwig van Beethoven
VIOLIN CONCERTO D MAJOR OP. 61
»PRÉLUDE À L’APRÈS-MIDI D’UN FAUNE«
NOTATIONS I-IV und VII
The Beethoven Anniversary Year 2020 includes a performance of his Violin Concerto, which raises the curtain on an impressive series of major classical Romantic works. At the end of the 19th century, Debussy created a finely orchestrated tone poem, »Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun«, while Boulez’s »Notations«, based on early piano pieces, present highly complex musical structures and sounds.
The concert is part of the Boulez-Biennale and a joint initiative of the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Pierre Boulez Saal and the Philharmonie de Paris.
