Liedrecital Corinna Scheurle & Taehan Kim

Dates

The programme spans almost a century of song history, from Viennese Classicism to French Impressionism, as well as High and Late Romanticism. The four song cycles are committed to a common thematic circle: the "Distant Beloved", the "Woman in the Distance", the mysterious, fascinating being. All of this is illuminated in a variety of styles, by the sensitive Goethe admirer Hugo Wolf and the young, inventive Clara Schumann, by the equally serene and exuberant Ludwig van Beethoven and the voluptuous, tone-painting Maurice Ravel.
