»As always, Barenboim’s orchestra played well for him, and sounded more warm and burnished in the new acoustic than they ever could before the renovation. Roman Trekel (Faust), Elsa Dreisig (Gretchen), and René Pape (Mephistopheles) are good singers, and proved it once again, their voices fuller and more present above the orchestra.«
